Important stages of your life

I grew up in Tenterfield and Tamworth. After University in Brisbane I stayed there for several years afterwards, working on various film and TV projects as well as Telecommunications at Telstra and Optus. I moved to Toronto, Canada in 2012 where I developed my accounting skills, working for Seeds Accounting, Entertainment One and Inuit-owned production Company Taqqut Productions. I have recently returned to Brisbane and continue to work remotely for Taqqut

How did you get to your current job position? For how long have you had it?

My current position was offered by a friend who I had met while volunteering on a short film at the Canadian Film Centre

How did you choose your specialisation (compared to others)?

I had an interest in storytelling from a young age

What does your employer do?

Film production, web design, marketing, and technical writing

What are your areas of responsibility?

Bookkeeping for the company and films

Can you describe a typical work day? What was the last thing you worked on?

Working remotely bookkeeping via laptop. In my own time, I develop film projects by working with creatives, hiring cast and crew etc

What are the career prospects with your job? / Where could you or others in your position go from here?

Producing bigger budget films

Lots of stress and responsibility, uncertain income for producing

They don’t necessarily have to be related to your role or even be career-focused.
